for Future exists

Young people need strength, talent and inspiration to find their own path. They also need people who believe in them, places where they can grow, and opportunities that do not depend on luck or the circumstances they were born into.

Wagner Family for Future was founded on this belief.

Franz and Moritz Wagner know from their own experience how much long-term support can matter – and how powerful it is to grow up surrounded by people who care. Family, friends, coaches, teachers and many others supported them along the way, encouraging them first to discover their dreams and then to pursue them.

They want to pass that experience on. Because they believe that the opportunities a young person has in life should not depend on where or how they grow up.

Together with their parents, Beate Wagner and Axel Schulz, they founded Wagner Family for Future in 2026 with one goal: to strengthen structures that create belonging, support individual growth and open up new possibilities for young people.

Every donation supports our efforts and helps us fund relevant projects and initiatives.

Franz Wagner

Moritz Wagner

Franz and Moritz Wagner are two of Germany’s most successful basketball players and currently play in the NBA, the world’s leading professional basketball league.

Together, the brothers won the FIBA Basketball World Cup in 2023. Franz went on to add another major international title with Germany, winning the European Championship in 2025.

But their experiences go far beyond sports.

Franz and Moritz know how important strong, lasting relationships can be – and how empowering it is to know that there are people around you who believe in you and support the path you choose.

Through Wagner Family for Future, they want to turn that experience into positive social impact, together with a team and partners who share that responsibility.

Our team

Alongside Franz and Moritz Wagner and their parents, Beate Wagner and Axel Schulz, managing directors Theresa Vorberg and Ingo Sauer are working to turn this vision into reality. Both bring many years of experience in sports and social impact, sharing their expertise to build Wagner Family for Future as a professional and sustainable nonprofit organization.
